Asue Ighodalo

Asue Ighodalo is a founding partner of Banwo & Ighodalo, one of the foremost commercial law firms in Nigeria. He obtained his first degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, a law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science; and was admitted into the Nigerian Bar in July 1985.

His core areas of practice are Corporate and Project Finance, Securities and Capital Markets, Energy & Natural Resources, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Asue is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (past Chairman of the Section on Business Law), International Bar Association (Section on Energy and Natural Resources Law), Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, Institute of Directors Nigeria, Commercial Law and Taxation Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Asue is the Chairman, Board of Directors, the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), Sterling Bank Plc and Levene Energy Group. He also sits on the boards of Mainstreet Technologies Limited, Cardinal Stone Partners, Okomu Oil Palm Plc, Christopher Kolade Foundation, and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

Asue has been consistently ranked as a “Tier 1” or “Leading lawyer” in all of his areas of practice by the leading legal directories. He has authored many articles in leading law publications and also delivered several presentations on diverse subjects.

His hobbies include golfing, watching football, reading, traveling and participating in political discourse. He is married and has a daughter.
