Fellow Biography

Ajiri Adoga is a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship recipient and the first Nigerian to obtain a master’s degree in Human Trafficking, Migration and Organised Crime from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham. She is focused on amplifying the rights of migrants and spreading awareness amongst young people on the dangers of irregular migration and the risk of modern slavery. To this end, she worked with AFRUCA Safeguarding Children to establish the first UK Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Anti-Slavery Network (BASNET), created to bridge the gap between anti-trafficking stakeholders in the BME community and the diaspora. She was also the first Program Manager at Illustro Consultancy in Nigeria, a UK based company that offers free Online Safety and Human Trafficking Workshops to school children. She is currently a volunteer at DEVATOP Centre for Africa Development a youth-led anti-human trafficking and human rights organization in Nigeria, focused on combating human trafficking, gender-based violence, irregular migration, and supporting survivors and at-risk youth. As a result of her interest in transformational leadership and nation building, she was selected as a mentee on the second cohort of the Mindswap Initiative mentorship programme. At the end of this program, she received an award for exceptional participation. She has a first degree in History and International Studies from Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State and she currently sits on the Redeemers University Alumni Board.
